At this point was the location of the “Himmelfahrtsschacht”.

He was mentioned for the first time at the beginning of the 17th century. It was the main winding shaft of the Bulacher mining area. In longer idle periods of mining he partially collapsed, but was always redeveloped with resumption of mining. In his last duration he reached a depth of about 120 metres.

The miners pulled up the beaten rock with the wind-lass to the daylight, the miners themselves always climbed up and down the ladders. At that time, the pit cage hung on hemp ropes – other materials were not available – they did not confide, because these ropes often tore in the humid air.
